Easel decides on the server what each person can see and change, whatever screen or route they use.
| Role | Can |

| Finance | Plan everything, move in files, run the budget cycle, close months, publish packs and manage people |
| Contributor | Revise, comment on and submit the budget for their own departments, explain their variances, and start proposals |
| Viewer | Read the overview, the budget cycle, scenarios, reviews and published packs |
The owner who finished setup is finance. Someone who signs in before finance adds them sees only "Waiting for finance".
Private pay
Individual positions, salaries and the detail behind another department's numbers are visible only to finance and that department's contributors. Everyone else sees the amounts with the detail removed. Published packs carry no individual pay detail.
Activity
The Activity tab, for finance, lists who changed what, when, and the plan revision before and after.
